Race at YOUR Pace!

During my morning run today, two runners surpassed me, and my first thought was, “Oh, it’s ON now!”

I wanted to take off in a fast sprint to catch up & fly passed them, but suddenly, my sensibility kicked in, and I realized, they were on their own path, and so was I.

Unfortunately, we tend to see others on a journey that may be similar to ours, but fail to understand that it is totally different.  We can’t determine our own success based upon what others have done or are doing.  The hills, mountains, valley’s and bumps that each of us hit are not the same, nor do they occur at the same time as that of our neighbor, or seen competitor.

Whether in business or our personal lives, we are on a very unique path that we can only travel ourselves. While we may take inspiration or note steps not to take from others, we cheat ourselves by seeking to mirror what and how others travel on their journey.  Let us transform our mindset to intentionally set a realistic blueprint to successfully enJOYing and reaching our goals.

Today, I was able to run farther, and at a better pace than ever before. Why? For one thing, I realized that I wasn’t in a race against anyone but the goals I set for myself.  More importantly, the race is not given to the swift…but to the ones that endure to the end…at their own, creative, unique pace.
