Sisterfriend Jai Jones is an artistic butterfly in whom I have enJOYed watching over several years blossom from a dancer and choreographer to an amazing wife, mother, entrepreneur and philanthropist. Her infectious smile, purpose-driven spirit and range of technical dance offers vast opportunities that exceed anything I’m sure she has even imagined, and this young lady knows how to dream big and have it all!
Having evolved into a versatile talent with diverse interests and business savvy, Jai has spent her life pursuing her passion for the Arts. With a unique ability to merge artistic and analytic skills, she has balanced multiple careers ranging from dance extraordinaire to business entrepreneur. At present, Jai is the Visionary & Senior Artistic Director of AREA | Atlanta’s Resource for Entertainment & Arts, choreographer for television, commercial, and stage; an active philanthropist, educating young people in the Arts; and an arts resource and partner with select Atlanta Public Schools.
Forging a legacy and trademark of excellence has yielded emphasis on technical dance and her current notoriety. Jai has found a unique niche to cultivate technically-trained professional artists and talent who will impact change in the industry and beyond. Jai’s elite clientele of students have gone on to pursue higher learning from renowned institutions to professional and successful careers in all areas of the Arts & Entertainment industry.
Jai has invigorated and impacted audiences around the world. Utilizing her innate ability for dance and performing, she is regularly tapped by corporations, organizations, record labels, managers and celebrities to provide artist development, choreography, performance creation, and/or instruction around metropolitan Atlanta and throughout the United States.
Understanding the imperative nature of philanthropy, Jai has founded The Creative Spark Foundation (TCSF), a 501(c)(3) non-profit arts educational organization which aims to inspire and spark creativity in youth through awareness, enrichment and an appreciation of the Arts. The Creative Spark wishes to focus on inspiring children and young adults to use their talents to the utmost of their abilities; mold future leaders and achievers to position themselves as pioneers in the 21st century; and challenge and motivate these future leaders. Jai has created Arts based Service-learning and After School programming which focuses on mentoring, training and leadership. Over ten public and charter schools in Georgia, and Organizations have adopted these programs impacting over 500+ youth in the Arts thus far.
A veteran of the arts and entertainment industry for over 16 years and 30+ years of training in all genres of dance, Jai offers a solid creative and artistic vision, professionalism, and a unique supporting facility that provides for a fusion of arts and business acumen at its best!
The CEO Pundit™: What inspires you?
Jai: The ability to bring change that effects a person’s life…I’m also inspired to experience life, as having lost my sister at such a young age and my father recently has given me a reason everyday to pursue my goals at their fullest potential.
The CEO Pundit™: Who inspires you?
Jai: My children inspire me, because not only are they an extension of me, but they have the ability to create their own way in life. For me to be part of their foundation, and a person steering them in the right direction, inspires me to be a great example.
My mom inspires me through her strength. As my example of a “mompreneur”, and her ability to press forward through loss, she exudes the powerful hero I have needed in my life.
And of course, my husband inspires me. He brings me balance and motivates me to reach far beyond mediocrity.
The CEO Pundit™: What is your legacy?
Jai: I would like to be remembered as a genuinely driven trailblazer for our generation; who shifted the traditional mentality of dance from a holistic perspective. I’m also very happy for the success of my friends, and I push them to explore every element of their inner being, so that they, too, may meet optimal potential in life.
You have certainly done that for this friend, Jai…cheers!
