My Unplugged Sabbatical

My husband and I took a relaxing week’s vacation on the beach last week and now, I’m back! And when I state that, I do mean back to everything–laundry, cooking, dishes, business, speaking, and my regularly scheduled early morning gym time.

As I mentioned in a note to my friends and followers, on your unique journey through life, everyone needs to some time to unwind and give their creativity a boost.  Whatever or wherever takes you to our most peaceful space and state of mind, you should visit that place often.  With my business and family schedule, I try to make the most of consistent “staycations”, as well as admiring the beauty of nature, as my office desk is nestled between two windows.  But I always have the strong desire to explore outside my dwellings at least each quarter, just to renew my mind…and it works very well.  It’s the only way that I can truly unplug from my busy thoughts, ringing phones and emails.

My favorite places are near the sea.  I awakened each morning to the sounds of the ocean, jogged through the sand, enjoyed a massage, watched the sunset on a dinner cruise, but most of all, I enjoyed the refreshing silence of my mind.  I have returned today with rejuvenated sense of peace, and I am ready to tackle all of the challenges and blessings aimed in my direction.
