Find Peace where you are…

I just hung up the phone with a good friend, which moved me to express my feelings today. Last week, I had a lump removed from my left breast that was found benign last year, but has since been growing. It’s a very humbling experience to face health issues that so many others have suffered through, and even lost their lives from dealing with. But, I have survived thus far, and for that, I am thankful.

I brought up my personal experience, because I know how it feels to be afraid, frustrated, depressed and emotionally depleted due to circumstances that you feel are beyond your control. I also know how it feels to overcome negative emotions, conquer fear and operate in hope, faith and joy.

My friend was expressing a deep disgust with a position at work, as well as personal issues that ultimately interrupted their peace and have seriously affected their health. I was very disturbed, because I have been down that road, and it’s not fun. But during the conversation, I expressed the urgency of finding peace where you are. In your current space, you must figure out how to create your own perfect world.

Additionally, when I asked my friend what their ideal next career was, the response was uncertainty. The one thing that I have definitely learned on my journey, is that you can’t move forward by defining what you don’t want. You have to be very specific in what you’re seeking in a positive way, and from my own experience, that’s how you attract what you desire.

I haven’t always been so “enlightened” about life, and I don’t pretend to be all-knowing at this point in my life, by any means…there are also moments when I still lose my ‘love & light’ mentality. smile. But I have to say that recognizing my Source, living in a place of peace & appreciation and attracting what I desire to possess is a much simpler and more fulfilling life.
